Costume Hire Information

We offer a fantastic range of quality fancy dress and theatrical costumes to hire online. Most costumes come complete with accessories such as wigs, hats, glasses and props at no extra cost. Whether you are organising a themed event, medieval wedding or banquet or TV and stage productions, look no further than Complete Costumes!


How much does it cost?

Children’s costumes cost £15 to hire for a five to seven day period. Adult costumes start from £19 for single items for up to a seven day hire period. If you require a costume for longer than this please contact us for a costume hire quote.

Do schools & theatres receive a discount for costume hire?

Yes we do discounts for schools or theatres so long as delivery is to the school or theatre address. Please contact us discuss the level of discount you will receive.


Do I pay a deposit?

All costumes require a returnable deposit. Some require a higher deposit charge depending on the costume. The deposit is refunded when the hired costume is returned on time (if posted) and in good condition, subject to our Terms & Conditions of hire.

When you have decided on your outfit or outfits you will be asked to read and agree with the Terms & Conditions.

Delivery rates will vary from costume to costume depending on the weight and size of each one for hire. We use Royal Mail's guaranteed next day delivery service or via courier depending on the weight to ensure that the costume arrives on time even if you book the day before you need it (please contact us prior to booking late in the day if you need it the day after just to make sure that this is possible)

Costumes should be returned within the seven day hire period please to ensure we receive in good time


Costume Hire Period

When a costume is reserved it is made unavailable for approximately a week either side of the hire period, this is to allow for processing of the costume. It also allows time for costumes to be delivered and returned. If you are hiring the costume over the weekend then this also allows us to post the costume ahead of time so you will have it ready for your chosen costume hire dates.



We pride ourselves in making sure every costume and accessory is checked and cleaned after each and every hire.


What if the costume does not fit?

Detailed measurements are given for each costume. Please ensure that you allow for movement as well. Due to the nature of fancy dress we cannot refund the hire charge unless the costume does not match the listing measurements. If we find this to be the case then a refund for the hire will be returned but NOT postage costs. Please make sure if this is the case that you return it within 48 hours for a possible refund NOT at the end of the hire period as no refund will be given.

Please contact us and we will do our best to help. Please give us plenty of notice if you require an outfit for a specific date.
